Social Display is a creative platform that transforms existing social media content into digital advertisements. The goal was not to build another ad editor it was to reduce the effort required to move from published content to campaign ready creative.
As the sole designer on the product, I worked across discovery, UX strategy, flows, interface design, interaction patterns, and system thinking while collaborating with stakeholders to shape the experience from the ground up.
Most ad creation tools expect users to make too many decisions too early.
Before creating anything meaningful, users are often required to:
This creates friction especially for users whose goal is simple:
“I already have content. I just want to turn it into an ad.”
The challenge became:
How might we reduce creative complexity and help users transform existing social content into campaign ready ads with minimal decision making?
To understand the problem space, I focused on understanding the workflow rather than adding more features.
Three patterns became clear:
Most users weren’t starting from a blank canvas.
Early technical decisions slowed momentum and increased abandonment.
People preferred making small decisions progressively instead of configuring everything upfront.
Instead of designing a traditional editor, I structured the experience into a guided creation flow.
Users begin with existing social content instead of an empty workspace.
The system progressively introduces only the controls required for the selected content and objective.
Users finalize outputs without reconfiguring previous decisions.

The final experience reduced friction in ad creation by turning a traditionally complex workflow into a more guided and approachable process.
The result was:
While detailed product data and visuals remain confidential, the project demonstrated how simplifying decisions can often create more value than adding features.
